Check Out This One-of-a-Kind American Home with Custom Aquariums Throughout

A one-of-a-kind house in the United States has created a massive buzz on social media recently, garnering the attention of Zillow Gone Wild.

The popular social media account highlights estate agent listings that shock and delight (as well as baffle, frankly) with odd, extravagant, and otherwise unusual features. It does so to its million-plus combined followers across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

A recent post about a home in Sterling Heights—a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and one of Detroit’s core suburbs—with multiple built-in aquariums and a koi pond has had nearly 6,000 comments, more than 40,000 likes, and over 3,000 shares since it was posted by Zillow Gone Wild two weeks ago.

The house is advertised as a 2,700-square-foot, custom-designed, ultra-modern luxury home built in 1974 and remodelled as recently as last year. Highlights include a seven-car driveway, a floating staircase, natural stone slate flooring, a unique chrome kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a basement described as “an entertainer’s dream”.

(Perhaps unsurprisingly, we’re led to believe that the house is currently lived in—or was most recentlyby the owner of an aquarium design and installation firm.)
