Following the announcement of the indefinite cancellation of OATA Impact Exhibitions’ AQUA trade show and all-new Water Alive consumer event, organizers of a new event coined AQUAH have stepped up to fill the gap left in the aquarium trade and hobby’s calendar during 2023.
The inaugural AQUAH show, due to be held at the Midlands’ NAEC Stoneleigh for the first time in 2024, will take place on the weekend of the 21st of September and the 22nd of September this year. The event had originally been slated to take place in April before this date was pushed back.
Trade organization OATA—the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association—announced the cancellation of AQUA 2023 in early May last year before then also distancing itself from the event’s spiritual successor, AQUAH, the following month.
Newcomer AQUAH, in the shape of AQUAH 2024, will differentiate itself from AQUA and its companion Water Alive event by focusing on both aquatics and reptiles – the UK’s first public event to do so.
Like the now-defunct AQUA event, AQUAH—now with an ‘H’—will also be open to both hobbyists and the public. However, the new event will be open to hobbyists in its entirety. In contrast, its predecessor planned only to invite non-trade visitors to the Water Alive portion of the show, leaving the main body of AQUA strictly for industry attendees.
Over 50 exhibitors showcasing more than 80 brands are expected to draw around 3,000 visitors at AQUAH 2024.
