We’ve spoken numerous times about banning pets as prizes and the RSPCA’s #nofunatthefair goldfish campaign. And OATA, the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association, has again reminded its members and their customers to say no to live fish at fairs this week.
Like many of us in the aquarium industry, the organisation does not support giving live fish as prizes at places like fairs and fairgrounds. Bringing home any pet, fish in particular, should be planned, so people must always say no if offered live fish as a prize.
