The National Marine Aquarium in Britain’s so-called Ocean City, Plymouth, is excited to announce that the BBC has commissioned a brand-new six-part series about its work.
The series is set to explore the aquarium and its charity work, taking viewers behind the scenes as its team tackles the everyday challenges that face those running the prestigious National Marine Aquarium. That includes everything from keeping over 4,000 spectacular creatures happy and healthy to helping establish Plymouth Sound as Britain’s first-ever National Marine Park.
The Welsh production company, Hall of Mirrors, will produce the series. Titled Secrets of the Aquarium, the BBC series will follow Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium through an exciting year of innovation and renovations as it approaches its 25th anniversary in 2023.
Filming has started for the TV series on BBC 2 next year as images courtesy of the National Marine Aquarium show.
The news comes following the announcement of three new BBC factual commissions. Further information about Secrets of the Aquarium specifically is available on the National Marine Aquarium blog.
