Back in June last year, we shared the exciting news that the BBC had commissioned a brand-new six-part television series about the work of the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth.
Almost 18 months on, the finished ‘Secrets of the Aquarium’ series begins airing on BBC2 tonight. Subsequent episodes will follow every Tuesday evening for six weeks, with the series concluding on December 19th.
Over the six weeks, ‘Secrets of the Aquarium’ promises to take viewers on an extraordinary journey behind the scenes of the largest aquarium in the UK. The show will also introduce the National Marine Aquarium’s dedicated team of caretakers, experts, and marine biologists while simultaneously highlighting their vital conservation work.
‘Secrets of the Aquarium’ Episode One
In the opening episode of ‘Secrets of the Aquarium’, titled ‘Moving a Shark Is an Adrenaline Rush’, the National Marine Aquarium’s curator relocates a problematic and particularly toothy inhabitant. Meanwhile, one of the aquarium’s divers constructs a new home for a reclusive lobster. Elsewhere, Friday the turtle has a troublesome encounter…
