Sexy Fish Opens in Manchester

Asian seafood restaurant now touted as the city’s swankiest – complete with Damien Hirst-designed décor and a huge aquarium.

  • Sexy Fish Manchester opens to the public today.
  • Walls adorned with sculptures of sea creatures.
  • Huge saltwater fish tank on show.

A favourite of London’s rich and famous, Sexy Fish has now opened a second UK restaurant in Manchester, just half an hour from our base in Rossendale. Diners can expect plenty of glitz and glamour at the former Armani shop in Spinningfields. The growing chain also has a restaurant in Miami, Florida, with another planned for Dubai.

The walls at the all-new Sexy Fish Manchester restaurant are adorned with vast sculptures of sea creatures, designed by legendary artist Damien Hirst. That includes an enormous octopus and a whole shoal of swordfish. Oh, and a life-size mermaid, of course.

However, it’s Sexy Fish in Manchester’s huge saltwater fish tank that’s likely to be of the most interest to aquarium hobbyists like ourselves. The tank in question separates the restaurant’s bar from its private dining area, where it takes up an entire wall.

Those looking to take in the tank—and splash out on some high-end Asian seafood right here in the North West—can now do precisely that in the heart of Spinningfields at 1 The Avenue.

Sexy Fish Manchester’s premium set menu offering, which features smoked chilli oysters, caramelised black cod, and premium sashimi, currently costs £162 per person. The restaurant officially opens to the public today, Thursday, the 12th of October, 2023.
